My heart beats with longing,

 a restless pulse in the night, 

 the reason for sleepless hours.

 Please, return to me. 

 

 You are the breath in my lungs, 

 the flicker of hope in despair. 

I would scale every mountain, 

cross every ocean 

to mend what’s broken. 

 

 No more fights, 

 no more hiding; 

 just hold me close tonight. 

 I’d traverse any distance, 

 for you are the reason 

my heart still seeks light.
