hearts plea

Please don’t hurt me; my heart is fragile,

this waiting for fate feels like a prison.

Be with me now—I ask with urgency,

for simple moments draw you away.

Tears trace paths down your face;

a taste unfamiliar yet hauntingly known.

Moving on becomes easy in your presence,

your essence eases my troubled mind.

So let go of old love, cast it to the sea,

watch it fade away as sorrow unfolds.

A year has passed, and the seasons shift,

my heart longs for you; time cannot wait.

Days stretch endlessly,

my lips are sealed, but dreams flow freely.

Settling for less is a fate I resist;

to hope for your heart is my whispered wish.

Summer nights linger; leaves gently fall,

I find solace in the arms of a friend.

Winter brings cold to my empty side,

yet spring unfolds, warming my soul.

So please don’t play with me; my heart’s on the line,

this waiting for fate feels unkind.

Be with me now, as seasons intertwine,

 in your embrace, I discover my place.
