for my parents
I don’t know when it started,
Or how it all began,
But God created families
As part of a perfect, loving plan.
He painted love in bright colors,
In each heartbeat and each glance,
Teaching us the essence
Of compassion and of chance.
He wanted a bond unbroken,
A thread that can't be frayed,
In a world that's often burdened,
Where the light begins to fade.
He gave us gentle whispers
In the soft caress of night—
A mother’s love, a beacon,
Guiding us toward the light.
She comforts us in our troubles
With hands that heal and mend,
A heart that knows our burdens
And a true and faithful friend.
He wanted strength and courage,
A rock to lean upon,
So He created fathers
Whose love is like the dawn.
With arms that lift us higher
And wisdom deep as the seas,
They teach us how to stand tall
And embrace life's uncertainties.
In laughter shared at dinner,
In stories told with pride,
In the warmth of gathering close,
Together we abide.
He poured love into moments,
In every tear and smile,
In family ties that bind us
Through every storm and trial.
So here we find our purpose,
In the blessings we hold dear—
A tapestry of memories
Woven through each joyful year.
For in this sacred union,
We learn to give and share,
With love that knows no borders
In a world that truly cares.
Let us cherish family,
For within it lies the key
To understanding life’s great lesson:
In love, we’re truly free.
