artificial friendships

In shadows cast by a glowing light,
You wore a mask, pretending to be right.
With laughter shared and secrets deep,
A bond I thought we’d always keep.

We danced through days, our spirits intertwined,
In every whispered secret, a promise designed.
We faced the world, arm in arm, strong and bold,
Dreams of forever in stories retold.

But when I turned to walk away,
You revealed your truth, a dark display.
Whispers danced behind closed doors;
The trust we built was now on all fours.

You feigned affection, played your part,
Yet twisted my words into bitter art.
Each shared moment, a fleeting thread,
Now woven into tales of dread.

A friend in disguise, a phantom's game,
You cloaked your heart in veils of shame.
With every lie, you drew the lines,
And soon began to craft those signs.

Your circles whispered, turned their backs,
Filling with venom, launching attacks.
You spun a web, so intricate and vast,
Casting shadows on friendships that couldn’t last.

What once was laughter now echoed pain,
I stood in a storm, while you basked in gain.
Isolated, abandoned, shunned from the light,
A lone figure caught in the endless night.

But know this truth, as time drifts by:
Real friendships endure while fakes comply.
Yet here I am, a ghost of the past,
Torn from the love that I thought would last.

In this silence, a heart now bruised,
I mourn the trust and the warmth that I’ve lost,
For while you masquerade, wearing your crown,
I’m left in shadows, my spirit cast down.
